ABOUT MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage Therapy is a therapeutic practice that incorporates various hands-on techniques of movement to manipulate the muscles and connective tissue. These techniques help to relax muscles, relieve tension, decrease inflammation, improve circulation and encourage healing. Massage supports both mental and physical health by addressing pain and promoting relaxation and wellbeing.

Our massage therapist works to understand your needs and customizes your service to you.

BENEFITS OF MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage Therapy draws on the ancient art of touch to ease tension, calm the nervous system and restore the body's natural rhythms. This supports not just physical relief but a deeper return to balance.

* Relieves stress - helping to calm the mind and reduce anxiety shifting the body out of "fight or flight" and into a parasympathetic, rest and repair state.
* Eases muscle tension - loosening tight, knotted muscles and connective tissue reducing stiffness and improving flexibility.

* Improves circulation - promotes better blood flow, oxygenation and nutrients to tissues while supporting the removal of metabolic waste.
* Boosts immune function - supporting the body's natural ability to fight off illness by increasing white blood cell activity.
* Reduces chronic pain - providing relief for conditions like back pain and arthritis.
* Enhances relaxation - encouraging a sense of calm and balance.
* Improves sleep - encouraging deeper, more restorative rest.
* Supports mental health - reducing cortisol levels and promoting overall mood improvements by boosting serotonin and dopamine, leaving you calmer and more grounded.
* Assists recovery - speeding up healing from injuries, surgeries or physical activities.
* Detoxifies the body - aiding in eliminating toxins and reducing inflammation.

LEARN MORE ABOUT
MASSAGE THERAPY

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A MASSAGE?
It depends on your goals and this can be discussed with your practitioner for the best answer. For general relaxation and stress relief, once a month is a great baseline. For chronic pain, injury recovery or ongoing tension, weekly or biweekly sessions can be recommended, tapering to maintenance visits as you improve.

CAN MASSAGE BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Yes! Massage pairs beautifully with acupuncture, cupping, and craniosacral therapy. Often craniosacral therapy is used in the same visit or alternated across sessions for a more comprehensive approach to healing.

IS MASSAGE SAFE DURING PREGNANCY?
Yes. Prenatal massage is generally safe and can help ease common pregnancy discomforts like back pain and swelling. Our practitioner is well trained in working with expectant mothers. Always let your practitioner know so that positioning and techniques can be adjusted accordingly.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER MY MASSAGE?
Drink plenty of water to help flush released toxins out and give yourself some rest if possible.
